We’ve been taking a much needed break from the stage to write some new songs and stuff - It’s been nice and all, but we miss playing! So we have a few AWESOME shows coming up, starting with MAY 8TH with Minus the Bear at UCSD!!! Tickets are available here: https://ucsdboxoffice.com/Online/default.asp
June 1st we’re playing MAKE MUSIC PASADENA - it’s a free outdoor concert that takes over Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena - lots of great music - DON’T MISS IT!
If you really love us, you can see us TWICE on June 1st, as we’ll ALSO be performing in Orange, CA at the ORANGE CURTAIN FESTIVAL in the evening.
We’re really excited to try out these new songs for you all. Hope you can make it to all 3!

SECOND FIRST TIMES
I discovered a video last night.
Well, not actually discovered, more in the way that Christopher Columbus discovered the Western world. Either way, it’s a video of the late Jeff Buckley singing his cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” Yes, I know that everyone and their mother has covered this song. And yes, I know that Mr. Cohen has requested that artists stop recording and performing this song. I don’t care.
I’ve personally been enjoying Jeff’s version of this song for about a decade. However, finding this video on my own last night, without the push of a friend or YouTube recommendation, felt magical. It sincerely felt like listening to this song for the first time, again.
That is an experience that I wish I could recreate with more frequency. Second first times. Another first kiss. Another first friend. Another first attempt at painting on canvas. But alas, time is linear. And all we have is the anticipation of more firsts. But now I have something else. I have the excitement of knowing I could have a second first, and now I’m looking for those too.
Hi Austin. Fuck SXSW. There… I said it.
Here, the music comes last. 5 minute set-up, no sound check, 15 minute set. The “music” element is all a front, it’s the first thing to be compromised. Corporate money everywhere but in the hands of the artists, at what is really just a glorified corporate networking party. Drunk corporate goons and other industry vampires and cocaine. Everyone is drunk, being cool. “Official” bureaucracy and all their mindless rules. Branding, branding, branding. It’s bullshit… sorry.
